Yippee! The spring equinox arrives on Tuesday, March 20. And what better time for us to introduce 24/7 audio streaming than on the first day of spring!
To listen, just click on the home page big green button. What will you hear? You’ll have to wait until Tuesday. But we can say that our new format is innovative, possibly unique in Canadian radio programming, and a natural choice for Prince Edward County.
And here’s a reminder: have you heard any of County Radio’s podcasts lately? There’s Home Grown, with host Karin Desveaux, all about the farmers, chefs, winemakers and producers who make up the County’s food and beverage landscape; and No Guts, No Change, which is all about social enterprise, hosted by Petra Kassun-Mutch.
Coming soon, the True Tales of Prince Edward podcast, featuring seventh generation County novelist and storyteller Janet Kellough. As Janet says,” From buried treasure and tidal waves, lost ships and lake monsters to rumrunners and the infamous Marysburgh Vortex, Prince Edward County tales have been passed down and passed around for generations. These are stories that have grown with time, but remain firmly rooted in real events and real people.”

Welcome to Prince Edward County’s brand new Internet radio station.
We encourage you to take a look around the website, and click on the big green button on the left to reach the County Radio player. You can then begin listening to our streaming audio programming.
If you’re not familiar with the term “Internet radio,” it seems that every time a major new audio distribution technology arrives, the word “radio” comes along for the ride.
Many of us now have satellite radio pre-installed in our vehicles. And these days, our computers, smart phones and personal listening devices allow us to listen to thousands of Internet radio stations all around the world.
What really matters though is that County Radio online will allow us to focus on Prince Edward County, while at the same time sharing a global connection with the world around us.
So please enjoy our eclectic music mix, while we begin to develop new and entertaining feature programs to add to our weekly schedule.
Here’s a preview of what’s to come—the first edition of Home Grown, hosted by Karin Desveaux. Home Grown will be heard at different times during the week, and also be available for personal listening or downloading as a weekly podcast. You can reach the first Home Grown podcast by clicking here.
Please tell us what you think of County Radio. Send us an email at countyradio@gmail.com. Or you can join us on Facebook and Twitter.
Happy listening!
