What computer hardware do I need to listen to the County Radio player?

Most up-to-date computers should play County Radio or other Internet radio stations properly without any modification. Your computer must have a sound card and either built-in speakers, external speakers or a headphone jack.

Do I need any special software?

All you need is a web browser and an Internet connection. A high-speed connection will provide the best results. If you’re using a dial-up connection, you may get some temporary interruption in the program stream. If you have issues, try reloading (refreshing) the page. Also, be sure to check your browser for any messages about software updates for your computer.

Where else can I listen to County Radio?

Currently County Radio is available exclusively at countyradio.ca and at the website of our streaming provider, live365.com. In the near future we expect to be available under the “eclectic” category in the iTunes radio directory.

Can I keep listening while doing other things on my computer?

Yes. County Radio will continue to play while you’re doing other things on your computer. Keep in mind that if you’re using another program that has audio or visiting a website with music or sound, County Radio won’t stop playing. You will need to disable the other audio source or pause County Radio until you’re done.

Can I download music from the County Radio player?

No. County Radio is a streaming service for listening use only.

How do I get started?

You’ll find the green “Click to Listen” County Radio player in the sidebar of this or any County Radio website page.

How can I view information on a song that’s playing now?

You should see the artist name and the song and album titles on the County Radio player as the song is playing.

How do the artists get paid?

Countyradio.ca is licenced under SOCAN’s Tariff 22F. SOCAN is the Canadian copyright collective that administers rights of more than 100,000 composer, author and music publisher members by licencing the use of their music in Canada. SOCAN collects licence fees on their behalf and distributes royalties to them.

Can I advertise on County Radio?
